Script For Thursday's Meeting |
7:00 PM - A Performance at Garden Plaza. See Calendar for Details.
I hope everyone is looking forward to our two upcoming performances in August and September, as well as Fall Convention in October. Our singing is improving each week and would really take off if we’d just remember what we learn from one week to the next! Until next week, KTWWS!
Board Meeting: August 12, 6 PM @ Ponder’s. Steve Grubb
From The Business Manager |
REMINDER! REMINDER! We will not be at Ponders this Thursday as we have a scheduled singout at Garden Plaza retirement facility. See everyone there at 6:00 pm.
Mark McKeel Profile (continued) |
I went to David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN in 1978 and transferred to Freed Hardeman College in Henderson, TN in 1980. Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 1983.
I worked for ATS Telephone & Data Systems for a short time in the Computer department in 1983, left and came back in 1986 as Inventory Control Specialist and then Buyer for the company. The company was sold to Exp@nets and then to Avaya. In all I worked for the company for 17 years. Then I moved to Nashville, TN in 2005 to work in the Central Procurement Office for the State of Tennessee. I was the supervisor of four buyers working with the Technology Services team. I worked there for 7 years. Then I moved to Chattanooga, TN in 2012 to work for the Purchasing Department with the City of Chattanooga. I have been with the City for 12 years.
How I became a part of the Choo Choo Chorus was that I was invited by Steve Grubb to come sing with the Chattanooga Christmas Chorus, and I enjoyed getting to know everyone in the Chorus. I did this for 8 years and then one day Jimmy Tompkins encouraged me to think about joining the regular chorus and in December of 2023 I became a member of the Choo Choo Chorus and the Barbershop Harmony Society. I enjoy meeting every Thursday at 7:00 PM to make new acquaintances and to learn this craft we call Barbershop. Thanks for the help and support as I learn the music. Mark McKeel
